The long friendship between humans and pets.

I think that I can say quite for certain that the history of humanity sees a very tight friendship between humans and cats and dogs. In fact these ones, even if with very different behaviours, accompany lot of us in our daily lives giving us many funny and pleasant moments. In some cases, this friendship is so strong that the cat or the dog can save the life of his owner. This is the main reason of the men’s friends day in San Rocco where, every year, they present the stories of dogs that, in a way or another, have saved their owner’s life. Sometime the stories are just unbelievable. But not only, this friendship has so many positive effects that it is also used in the so called “pet therapy”. Now, without going to investigate too much this forms of human – animal interaction nor willing to write an historical treatise about it, starting from the importance that ancient Egyptians gave to cats, I want to dedicate this post to cats. Cats are able to make us laugh with their outgoing behaviour. They are making company but never that intrusive, sometime they just want to be left alone and in peace, they love to have “their” home under control such as their owner. When they are really attached to their owner they also bring them gifts such as lizards, mice or whatever ends in their clutches. Sometime they also give us some scratches. I have seen many cats and it is funny and nice to look as each one has its own particular behaviour. Since some years a cartoon designer draws funny short cartoons’ sketches in which I can recognise my cat. It is obvious that the designer knows very well these animals. A short video represent, more than the others, my cat. It is to Skipper and at this friendship that I dedicate this post. He has accompanied me for more than ten years now and, often, tried to interfere with everything I had being trying to write on my PC. So, as soon as I started writing something for this blog, always, after two precise minutes after the PC lighting, the cat sprawled on the keyboard strongly purring. These two minutes are now passed by a long while but of him there is no more trace. Goodbye Skipper.
