On the Road.

Every trip brings with it many strong feelings because it takes us outside from our routine. Those feelings passing from the enthusiasm while planning to the adrenaline of the leaving, from the fatigue when kilometres on the road are too many, till that mind status of relax and joy while world is just passing by your dashboard.

The best travels are the ones more unlikely to be and far away from touristic routes. These trips are able to create a real connection with different cultures, different ways of life and personalities far away, not only geographically speaking, from us.

In the end, there is that endless thirst for discovery, the more you discover the more the thirst to go further. I have travelled during endless nights, on roads and highways where I met only lonely trucks and, up in the sky, the moon and the stars. The photo of this post was taken during one of those nights.

We are always busy in our lives but, sometime, we shall give an outlet to that thirst for discovery that I perceive as perfectly described by the words of Jack Kerouac in his book “On the Road”:

“The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes “Awww!”

The good mad ones are not so many around, we shall start looking for them.
